Merchant responsibility
- The merchant is responsible for the legality of selling every product it lists and for obtaining every licence or registration required by law.
- Acceptance of a product on the platform is an operational measure and does not constitute confirmation by Piperona that the product is safe or compliant.
- The merchant must update its information and documents when they expire or when requirements change.
- Lack of knowledge of the requirements is not an excuse.
Strictly prohibited products
The following products may not be listed on Piperona under any circumstances:
- Counterfeit or non-genuine products, or products listed under a trademark without the trademark owner's authorisation.
- Used or refurbished products presented as new.

A product will not be published unless its page includes the following information, as applicable to its nature:

Listing verification
- Piperona reviews products in restricted categories before they are published.
- Piperona may refuse to publish a product if its documents or information are incomplete and will provide the merchant with the reason.
- Piperona may re-review any published product and request updated documents at any time.
- Piperona periodically reviews regulatory decisions concerning recalled or prohibited products.
Consequences of a breach
- Listing a prohibited product: the product is hidden immediately and the merchant is notified.
- Listing a restricted product without documents: the listing is suspended until the documents are provided.
- Listing a counterfeit, expired, or unsafe product: the merchant account is suspended immediately pending investigation.
- Repeated breach: the account may be restricted or the agreement terminated in accordance with the joining agreement.
- The merchant bears any damages, claims, or recall costs resulting from its breach.
- The merchant may challenge any action in accordance with the published appeal process.
If the non-compliant product has already been sold to customers, the Product Recall Policy applies and the customer receives a full refund regardless of the return period or the condition of the packaging.
Reporting a non-compliant product
- Any customer, merchant, or trademark owner may report a product that breaches this policy.
- The report is assigned a reference number. Piperona reviews the product and informs the reporter of the outcome.
- For reports concerning product safety, the product is suspended immediately until the review is complete.
This policy forms an integral part of the agreement to join the Piperona platform and must be read together with the Product Recall Policy and Seller Terms and Conditions.
The lists of prohibited and restricted products may be updated whenever legal requirements or regulatory decisions change. The merchant will be notified before an update takes effect.
This policy is governed by Egyptian law, particularly Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018.
